User's notes

Wow! This afternoon I was super-fortunate to hear and see, perhaps the largest flock of gang gangs I've observed. Initially, I heard very loud cha-cha-chaing as young birds begged for food. When I searched for the source of the noise, I saw gang gangs, male and female, flying and fluttering and settling low onto branches, then onto the ground. As I knew they weren't ground feeders, I could not work out what they were doing until I crept closer - and there they were, drinking from a hidden hollow of water. And just so many! Unfortunately, these were the best photos I could take. I'm wondering if one of the drinking females is a fledgling? Around ten birds flew from the drinking hole. However, for the next hour or so, I estimate twenty-plus birds grazed on the trees around this glade (see next sighting)
