Thanks for the ID. I'm curious as the description from ALA seems to suggest that C. parva only occurs in western Vic and SA? I also noted there is another species listed as a synonym, C. phaeoclavia which is found in NSW. Have these two species been reclassified? I would also love to know more about the distinguishing features for this species, and if it is of interest (seems to be listed as rare/uncommon in the ACT, and potentially threatened in other states)?
My understanding was C. phaeoclavia has since been found to be the same species as C. parva. I am not sure what the other synonyms are, but as far as I am aware those two are the same. C. phaeoclavia (parva) is listed as 'Rare' under the ACT Rare Plant List, however it is not listed under NSW or Cwlth legislation. Not sure about other states. C. parva is generally distinguished from C. atrovespa by the more prominent clubs on the sepals. This is only useful as a best guess as both species can sometimes look identical. The pollinator species are different so that can be used for a positive ID should you be lucky enough to catch them on camera.
