For at least 20-30 years Australian Wood Ducks return to nest in the large trees each year in HGW and since bird boxes were erected about 6 years ago these utilize these as well. They are seen wandering throughout the park and down Lynch Street. So far they have survived HGW being designated an Off-leash Park. But who knows!
