Over the last month I've been hearing Gang-gangs arrive at the cafe area of the ANBG between 4.30-5.00pm. Today I went out and see them in usual tall eucalypt near the pond below the cafe. They then moved along to the eucalypts around the Ellis Rowan building. Then further up to the brittle gums around the Seedbank (Research Cottage) where some were observed chewing on eucalypt twigs, while 4 birds ate some Melia azedarach berries for around 2 minutes.
Thanks Helen - much appreciated, Melia is a bit of a targeted food plant for Gang-gangs, particularly in Melbourne where it is a bit more commonly planted than Canberra
