Nice one Michael, I think this is a native rorippa, my guess at this stage is Rorippa gigantea but I'm not sure ill be able to confirm without the leaves. You wouldn't happen to have an image of the rosette lying around, would you?? :)

No Ciaran, the stem was very long, well over a metre, scrambling. I didn't think to find the base of the plant. The name Forest Bitter-cress suits. See:

I think you are correct.

Over a metre discounts Rorippa Laciniata, and probably Rorippa dictyosperma. This keys out to R.gigantea in plantnet, vicflora and the source that you've provided. The primary difference between the two species (besides the leaves) seems to be the position of the fruit, with the "pods" of R.dictyosperma pointing up, while those of R.gigantea are horizontal. The pods of this plant are relatively horizontal so I think we can name confirm this as R.gigantea, although another opinion might be worthwhile. :).

Fantastic find Michael and great ID work Ciaran. This is only the third record of this species in the ACT. There is a 1925 record from Coree and a 1969 record from Lees Creek
