Perhaps either H. jucunda or H. perichres, but I'm suggesting H. perichares. On the ALA the two species are quite variable bit it seems to me H. perichares has generally broader black transverse black bands which seems to me to better match this observation. Although the H. perichares examples on LBH and those from Queensland on Bold System 4 show black marginal colouring on the forewing margins, this is absent from the photos of the species there from New South Wales. Several examples on the ALA show the broader posterior black band of the two (and no black forewing margins) which this specimen shows. See this iNaturalist record from the ACT: https://biocache.ala.org.au/occurrences/81e970f1-46b5-4931-bf17-85d08130f184.

In H. perichares the distal black forewing band continues narrowly along the costa to the apex,
unlike H. jucunda or this specimen.

Don, if I unsterstand you correctly I see the feature you refer to only in a minority of examples of H. perichares on Bold Systems and there is even one H. jucunda example there which shows that feature.

Turner says of H. perichares "Forewings ... three blackish fasciae : ... posterior leaving a narrow orange-yellow terminal strip which may or may not extend to the tornus; cilia blackish, towards apex of wing yellowish."
To me: this implies that the posterior black band encircles the remaining subterminal yellow-orange area. I agree many BOLD photos of H. perichares do not show that.
Turner was describing 3 males. Maybe the females are different.
I do wish BOLD listed the sex of each specimen. I cannot tell the sex from the photos.
I think the BOLD bins of this species should be scrutinised to see if the ones with a yellow marginal fringe form a separate group from those with a black fringe.
