I did not realise what I'd (literally) stumbled upon until too late- I was in and out of there very quickly. The main birds I saw hanging around were grey fantails, but a quick google says their nests look different? After watching David Attenborough's Egg documentary, I saw these beautiful eggamples of nature's engineering very differently.
Just noticed this! Looks like a robin nest based on branch location and decorations. So pretty! Blue eggs would suggest maybe an Eastern Yellow Robin. Did you you go back at all?
Yes, it was just such a beautiful nest, and so surprising to find. This corner is home to many small birds (and, I've discovered lately, pigs . . .) so could well be a robin. I haven't been back to check for a while, but now you've reminded me, I'll make time to have a look (and avoid those grunters)
I'm quite confident this is an Eastern Yellow Robin nest, it looks like others I've seen in real life and matches other images I've found. The shape and material of the nest and the blue eggs seem fairly consistent and distinctive.
