Its good to see these insects established in the Gardens. Their larvae live in running water and would be associated with the recirculating streams in different parts of the Gardens. The short-lived adults do not disperse far from the waters edge. Roger - could you send me a full size image of the adult r.farrow@iimetro.com.au. Thanks.
PS some massive species occur in the New World with huge jaws that the males use in combat for females
