User's notes

Seemed to mimic a Fabriogenia spider wasp (constantly twitched it’s orange antennae, moved around with a jumpy movement). Also physically resembles one as well. Any help identifying it would be much appreciated as I find it a very interesting species.

As guessed above, this insect mimics certain spider wasps. And if that deception doesn't work, it can also bite hard.
