Hi Lyndal, in diet studies they were shown to eat about half invertebrates, half small vertebrates, but they also take the odd larger prey, mainly rabbits. In the warmer months, at times they take over rabbit warrens but mostly use only one of the entrances, while the other entrances fall into disrepair. In the cold months they occupy their own burrows.
