Ken, would you be able to look at the original photos and see if the tips of the teeth have droplets (even 'solidified' droplets like the watery dots on the tips of the teeth in this less than fantastic photo: http://www.anbg.gov.au/fungi/images-captions/dacryobolus-sudans-0256.html)? Or are the apices fimbriate?
I have added an extra image which shows the "solidified droplets" on some of the teeth. Image isn't as sharp as I'd like as exposure duration was over a second and the branch was moving slightly in the breeze, camera on tripod.
