User's notes

Probably C. actensis. I thought I reported this a few days ago but as no confirmation have submitted it again. I have now added a new hairy photo of the original and another nearby.

Peter I don't dare to id from a leaf - I need to leave this to the orchid crew.

If it turns out to be C. actensis than you found a new location!

Sorry, I didn't see this before. However, I'm reluctant to identify it from these photos. It could just be the light or the dirt, but it doesn't look hairy enough for a spider orchid and the colour looks too bright. It's definitely worth another look though if you can find it again.

I would have thought this a spider orchid leaf. Can't think of what other plants have a leaf like that. Glossodia is generally more prostrate.

Peter, do you think you can find it again and perhaps take a couple of more photos? probably after gently removing the dirt from one side of the leaf. I tend to be with MattM - I can't think of other plants with a single hairy leaf of this shape and size. As mentioned above, this would be a new location.

Yes, these new pictures look much more like a spider orchid. They show the very long hairs, especially at the base. However, given that it's a new location, you would really need a flower to ID it to species.

Peter
this is hot! I hope you'll find it again; I don't expect flowering before mid August earliest.
We have an increasing population of redneck wallabies which may nibble the orchids...
