While photographing this flower, I watched the labellum (?) rise to vertical - I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me when I saw it move!

That's a trigger plant (not an orchid, but they do look like orchids especially from a distance). When an insect lands on the flower it 'triggers' the column to snap up and onto insect's back thereby transfering pollen.
