The lower altitude is a strong indication that this is angustifolius. Also in photos the thick branches and the angle at the branches come off the stem (greater than 65 degrees) is a key character in Vicflora.

Really surprising. If you can get back there in in spring or summer when it might have fruit or flowers on that would be nice.
