Author's notes

Seeing these 6 ducks at the same site as previous sitings is great, previously there has only been 2 each year. Sometime mother duck with chicks invades houses and occasionally has been boxed and transferred to the lake. Photo by J. Gralton.

Above photos taken 25-6-2019.
But on 25-9-2019, 5 adult ducks were seen wandering in the vicinity of the breeding trees, eventually leaving the area with no ducklings! Duck eggs had been found earlier on the ground below the breeding trees after a very windy period. Ducklings when on the ground also have to contend with being eaten by foxes and cats and chased by dogs!
