The fruit looks as if it might be in the family Rosaceae. However, it is in none of the genera listed in Plantnet or Vicflora. Wait till it flowers and do a second sighting linked to this one? A photo of the whole plant might help, or at lesst a note to say whether it is a tree or a shrub.
