I think this is the first record of this plant in the ACT - it is a significant coastal weed and one we would want to eradicate in the ACT while this is still possible

User's notes

Many stems over an area of approx 2square meters at one of several garden waste dumping sites east of Mackenzie Street; see also Bridal creeper record http://canberra.naturemapr.org/Community/Sighting/3385286

I sincerely hope it isn't, but looks very much like Turkey Rhubarb ((Acetosa sagittata). Common on coast, and if this is it possibly new to ACT?

Waltraud are you able to deal with this infestation of Turkey Rhubarb- I'm not sure as to how it should be treated but can find out if you want.

Auto-Alert has gone to the High Risk Invasive Plants Team. Now mapped on Collector app Weeds Not Treated 2017-18 map. Specimen will be collected for herbarium on Tuesday. Control work will commence Wednesday and will be mapped on Collector app Treated Weeds 2017-18. We may need assistance with a delimiting search for more plants. Only herbicide options are: 2L glyphosate per 100L water spot spray or stem scrap with glyphosate at 1 part to 1.5 parts water. Do not cut-dab as you will trigger masses of new plants.
