A spindly looking large shrub or small tree............ growing beside the Old Tuggeranong Road, near the Tuggeranong Pine Plantation.

Otherwise, could you give me leaf length and width and number of flowers per flower head and I will give it a go.

The leaf in the 3rd photo was 110mm long including the leaf stem, and was 18mm wide at the widest part. That was one of the largest leaves of my sample branch. The maximum number of flower globes on the flower stems was 18 on several of the longest ones, the minimum number was 5. The tree was spindly looking and 5-6 m tall.

Mike was the stem of the plant whitish? Looks like Golden Wattle Acacia pycnantha

The finer, newer stems were pale green, but some of the older stems has a whitish colouring mixed with the brown.

The comment in Wattle is that 'plants with pruinose (waxy) branchlets are scattered throughout the range'. That suggests to me that not having that character does not matter.
