This is a very small and delicate rush. If possible I would like to know what species it is.

Hi Ruth
In that location it might be Juncus subsecundus, which is smallish and occurs in grassy woodlands. Difficult to tell from photos.

You were spot on Michael, definitely Juncus subsecundus based on locality and inflorescence structure. It is probably our most common local rush species.
