I have recorded Phoracantha semipunctata before, see:

There are noticeable differences between the the two specimens, in colour and shape. Is this a male/female thing, or are they generally variable?

Michael - I goggled images of this species and the colour and pattern is variable - but happy if you want to undo confirmation

I don't think it is P. semipunctata and should wait for Kim's opinion. There are number of similar-looking genera in the Phoracanthini.
