I was told by a local garden expert that Koelreutaria would not become a weed in the ACT because the winters were too cold. If I can remember where I have seen them I will report them.

Yes it is not one I have seen as a weed before but would be good to keep an eye on the species generally

There are probably more than realized as seedlings commonly emerge and grow quite well in gardens which have a tree.
