Suggested identification from 'Moths of Victoria' Part 3, by Peter Marriott (Entomological Society of Victoria, 2011).

Records 3373220 and 3373686 seem to be the same high country species. Both suggested identifications are in the territory, but the closest correspondence to these photos is on p17 (RHS) of Moths of Vic part 3, labelled Chrysolarentia phaedra. ANIC specimens show that this is variable species which doesn't have the usual Chrysolarentia irregular but unbroken band from the middle of the fw costa to the middle in the inner margin - the band is definitely broken as it is in the three photos, but in different ways in different specimens. C. Phaedra is the best ident for the moment, pending more photos that also show the hindwing.

Ryu Callaway may have photos of the hindwing of this moth. I think we might have been taking photos of the same one.

Kim's first suggestion was right - it is one of the pattern forms of C. interruptata.
