User's notes

Nest of Yellow-rumped Thornbill in a planted Acacia genistifolia. Image1 taken from above shows the fake entry and chamber, image 2 lateral view with fake entrance, image 3 lateral view with fake entrance above and real entrance just visible below. I saw the parents too but they were to quick for me and my camera. There are several more nests in nearby Acacia genistifolia and Bursaria lasiophylla shrubs; at least 2 of them belonging to Yellow-rumped Thornbills. The shrubs are planted to provide bird habitat and to replace woody weeds that Friends of Mt Majura removed from the area.
