These mushrooms grew from a layer of leaf and twig litter, about 15 cm deep, below a eucalypt in a suburban garden. The mushrooms of this species are reported to produce copious red fluid when damaged and I have seen that on one occasion. However, when I collected these specimens I could produce only a slight red bleeding (alas, too poor to show well in a photo). The scale in Photo 3 shows millimetres and in Photo 4 I show the reddish-brown gill edges found in this species.
