User's notes

Just after the Brolga enclosure at 'The Sanctuary'. An advertised granite outcrop with quite a number of these skinks living amongst the rocks and logs.

This skink has been incorrectly identified - it is Eulamprus heatwolei. E. tympanum does not have the slightly flattened head profile. It also is (usually) less heavily spotted with dark markings on the top of the head and does not have such a clear pale dorso-lateral "stripe" from above eye to shoulder as this specimen has. These two species can be hard to identify. E. tympanum is not common at Tidbinbilla except high in the mountain range where it occurs only in and near bogs and wet swampy heath-land.
