Ken I can't key this willow out with any certainty. Happy for you to confirm or leave as salix depending on how confident you are of ID

Thanks Michael, might be best to stay with Salix. I don't know the willows well enough and given their willingness to hybridize I think Salix would be the safe bet although my feeling is that S. nigra genes would be involved here.
