Acacia genistifolia has needle like cylindrical leaves while this of Acacia ulicifolia are narrow triangular in shape

I always mix them up, but I think I knew it was A. genistifolia and put the wrong name!

Atlas of Living Australia shows Acacia genistifolia is rare south of the Molonglo River though there is a sighting for Mugga Mugga which I have never seen. Acacia ulicifolia is more common but many of the sightings are from Canberra Nature Map!

There have been a number of other sightings of A. ulicifolia and this is the one for A. genistifolia. However, as it is in an area where some plantings were done a couple of years ago, it could be OK.

I went looking for the A. genistifolia reported on Mugga Mugga in 1999 and did not find it. Instead I found 15 small A. ulicifolia.
