I refer to this green belt that borders Belconnen Way and Caswell Drive as Aranda Woodland. It runs behind the houses of Arabana St from Haydn Drive round to Bandjalong Crescent. If you park in Arabana St walk down the Walkway turn right, it looks as if it is about opposite the fourth house along. It is towards the middle ie not near the road edge or the track. There were two flowering and one still in bud (I assumed the 3rd one was same species) all reasonably close together.
Thanks for the information. I have confirmed it as C. fuscata, which is starting to appear in good numbers in Aranda Bushland, Black Mountain and similar locations. Easily confused with C. carnea, which starts flowering a bit later, tends to be a more robust plant and often has more than a single flower.
