This forester moth (Zygaenidae) seems most similar to Pollanisus acharon but that species to date online has only been recorded from tropical North Queensland. Similar also to P. lithopastus which occurs locally but that species apparently lacks the extent and precisioon of the bright blue colouring of this . This would be a considerable extensin of the range of P. acharon south if it can be confirmed as that species. Neverthe less, based on known distributions, this species is most likely P. lithopastus though few examples of that species I seen online appaear as well defined as this specimen.
