Thanks everyone, it is so kind to have this article written about me, and also good publicity for Nature Map and citizen science.

Congrulations Luke and Stuart, great finds and a really excellent article which should encourage others look more carefully at their surroundings and I hope to use Canberra Nature Map too!

Thanks for the kind comments everyone and once again, well done Luke! I'm sure glad there are young people like you looking out for our environment in the future....
Big thanks also to Michael Mulvaney for seeing worth in this story and submitting the original draft to the newspaper. I'm sure Michael won't mind me sharing another ingredient to this story that wasn't mentioned: he and his wife Vikki helped plant the exact same Bursaria spinosa shrubs many years ago where the jewel beetle was found!
Team (CNM) effort ! :)

Stuart, That coincidence is amazing.
Well done Luke and a deserving recognition for a young nature lover. Perhaps it will help to inspire the up and coming younger generations to take more notice of what is around them if they would just slow down and take a look. I often watch joggers passing through our reserves without having any idea of just what they are missing by not taking the time.
