Canberra Nature Map boundaries

Dear CNM Members,

We've recently formalized the boundaries of the project - these are the boundaries within which the system will allow you to report sightings.

We've had to do this for the following reasons:

  • Due to significant growth (a great problem to have!), the project started to quickly stretch beyond the ACT and surrounds into the South Coast, Sydney and even Victoria. Strategically, the project remains dedicated to it's focus on the ACT and surrounds and this gradually sprawl over time meant that we were slowly dilluting that focus.
  • To keep the workload relevant and reasonable for our team of volunteer moderators and site administrators

We have also established a strategic partnership with the http://www.atlasoflife.org.au/ so as to make it easier for members who reside in the ACT but may also wish to report coastal sightings across both sites.

So if you wish to report coastal sightings, please visit the http://atlasoflife.naturemapr.org/.

Thanks for all your contributions from the CNM team.
