Rod/Deb, given the pattern on the forehead, the eye/eyering, and general colour as appears in your photo this looks to me more likely to be a Brown Thornbill, than a Buff-rumpled. Please consider.

Unfortunately it is not the best photo of the bird the others taken were worse, I checked all the photos in our books and on CNM on Brown Thornbill and Buff-rumped and still was not 100% sure as they look so similar so it was one of those "best guess" times. I am happy to defer to your expertise. Thanks Deb.
