Gryllotalpa nitidula (Mole Cricket)

Otte and Alexander 1983 Monographs Acad. nat. Sci. Philad. 22 list the following diagnostic criteria for males of this mole cricket: pronotum smooth and shining; general colour mahogany brown, darkest on face, pronotum and dorsum of abdomen; forewings generally dark grey or brown, on dorsal field lightest in harp area, lateral field blackish dorsally and pale grey or brown along lower margin, body length 30-35mm, pronotal length 10-11.5mm, forewing length 10-11mm.
