Carobius elongatus (Brown Lacewing)

Coloration. Brown. Eyes black. Face dark brown, genae very dark; vertex almost black anteriorly; palpi pale except darkened outer edge; antennal scape and pedicel pale except dorsally, flagellum dark grey to black. Pronotum buff along midline, dorsolaterally dark, lateral margins pale. Pterothorax brown, sutural lines buff; abdomen: sclerites brown, membrane pale. Legs generally pale: apex of T, most of t darker brown. Forewing venation mainly pale brown, with paler lengths on most longitudinal veins; pterostigma, gradates and parts of membrane shaded with greyish brown. Hindwing with most basal venation pale, distal venation brown, pterostigma shaded with pale greyish brown.

Pronotum much broader than long. Wing venation as in Figs 192, 193; forewing rather narrow. (Australian Hemerobiidae, T R New 1988)
