I've added a third photo, @MarkH. The photos are very dark and noisy I'm afraid. The beetle is a little darker than shown in the final photo but still with that sheen. It also has white feet if that is of any help.

The white feet make me a bit concerned about nominating Tenebrionidae. I’ll show the photo around and see if I can get more certainty on a family
