Great find...... are you able to revisit tomorrow and capture the mature specimen?
At a guess, i suspect this will be one of the Physarum species, but they are notoriously difficult to ID from the plasmodial stage.

I attempted to find it again today, but with no luck. Will have to take more photos in context next time!
