For once I agree with CarbonAI. VicFlora says:
"Leaves alternate, scale-like, triangular or lanceolate, c. 0.5 mm long, 2–5 mm long on new growth, spreading, apex obtuse or acute, persistent." So this new growth has these actual leaves rather than the scale like ones I am used to. B.
