Mapped with Field Maps not treated; 8 young A. decurrens in an area where I frilled large A decurrens 3 years ago; see for example https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4721028.

I monitored the grassy woodland in this part of nature reserve for 20 years and removed many woody weeds such as Grevillea sp. and Cootamundra wattles. As it is good conservation practice I waited for local Acacia mearnsii and Acacia paramattensis to recruit and grow before I finally decided in 2023 to frill the mature A. decurrens (I removed young A. decurrens recruits every 3 years or so).
I'm upset and disheartened that the fire unit recently cut the majority of the local wattles particularly along the drainage line. This not only removes local habitat but has opened the drainage line for invasives from nearby gardens and garden extensions (which are not touched). Drainage lines will always support a greater variety of plants and growth habits and are important refugee sites for wildlife. Government needs to decide whether these are weeds or local species.
