The Buff-banded Rail was seen at the Gladstone Street end of Palmer Street.
These coordinates might be more accurate -35.170651 149.071847

There are reeds along the edge of the playing field as it is a constantly damp area.
The bird was trying to forage between those reeds, the nature strip and the edge of Gladstone Street. Rosie Rosemary
