My neighbour replaced Acacia baileyana "purpurea" with Snowy River Wattle after I convinced her that the purple form of Cootamundra produces viable seeds (I carried out germination trials). I tried hard to convince her not to replace an invader and declared pest plant with another invader (Snowy River Wattle will become the new Cootamundra wattle) and even offered to provide replacements for free - considering the time I spend to control Snowy River wattle in the Mt Majura Nature reserve the offer of free replacement plants is inexpensive. Sadly the owner insisted to plant the invasive species.
