These images of a Common Prettymouth have been compared side-by-side with those of previous sightings 4722501 and 4680226. The markings on the fungus and the features in the soil bank surrounding it prove that this sighting is of the same Common Prettymouth that was first recorded at Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve on 6th June 2025, over a year ago. The puffball has grown slightly during this time and shows minimal deterioration. It is clear however that the ‘mouth’ at the top of the puffball is now slightly open when compared to the previous images. I had no idea that this type of puffball was so robust and took so long to grow and mature. Thanks to @Heinol for the original identification of this long-lasting and rugged puffball.
