User's notes

another sapling possibly of a vulnerable species - this one shows opposite leaves on shoots from the lignotuber, transitioning to alternate arrangement, and the stem near these leaves appears "warty"

Barb, since we don't know the species we don't know its status either. The opposite leaves of your specimen look different to what I recorded earlier as E. aggregata, for instance https://canberra.naturemapr.org/sightings/4486575. Perhaps 2 different species?

Yes, of course I agree, until we know the species we are not sure... and I suspect we have 2 species, as you do. E. aggregata is very variable.

https://canberra.naturemapr.org/users/22862, perhaps E. dives; perhaps learn how broad leaved peppermints smell...

Think not E. dives
