User's notes

Sighted on a handrail in ANBG's Rainforest Gully, which is always a good place to look for insects. The second and final images provide some detail of the interface between the beetle’s antenna and its compound eye. The images appear to show that the head of this type of beetle may have evolved and changed shape over time, causing the base of each antenna to move across the face and into the compound eye structure. In some other Longhorn beetles this feature almost separates each eye into two distinct parts, an upper and lower section.
