The chick's family flew in around 5.25 - twenty minutes after the interlopers had visited and flown off (sighting #4727006). The chick remained looking out at the world until his family arrived. Dad flew to the top of the hollow, but on the opposite side he usually lands. He gazed at the chick, then crabbed down to where he could allopreen, then feed the chick. He moved to the other side, preened, fed, then followed the chick down into the hollow to feed. Meanwhile, mum stayed above the hollow. The older sibling landed on the stag behind the hollow where, for months, we've seen it land and beg. But this time, she flew to the stand of trees behind the hollow, calling in an adult voice and fluttering and playing on an old tree. Mum came in to feed briefly, before a pair of SCCs arrived to check out the hollow below. Mum reappeared, and dad soon flew at the SCCs, dislodging them so that they flew off. The family flew off around 5.45, so stayed 20 mins.
