User's notes

Just some of the flock feeding on Hawthorn Berry Bush. I can count 26 in this image but there were more on the other side and a few others in nearby trees.

Great photo. Maybe I shouldn't be trying to get rid of all the hawthorns.

Mike -they do like Hawthorns but feed on over at least 300 food items and unfortunately there is an over supply of Hawthorns that Gang-gangs can't eat their way through so keep up the good Hawthorn eradicating work. Reeni thanks for this document of a gathering of a size that is now uncommon. Autumn is the time when big flocks of Gang-gangs congregate and I wonder whether it is more a social than a food thing. Stacey (doing her PhD) has attached some trackers to some of our local Gang-gangs so hopefully we will soon have an idea of movement outside the breeding season

a similar sized group was spotted heading into Wodonga this week by someone on INat, though I've rarely seen them in a flock.
