User's notes

Rescued this female moth from drowning, most of the scales on the wings were already lost. After a recovery period, she started laying eggs into crevices and cracks under bark (eggs shown in pictures 4 and 5). I think this is Ectropis excursaria due to the lower wing pattern (and as lots of these moths were found here this year), but couldn't take a picture of the lower wings as she became very agitated when I tried to move the upper wing. So no evidence.

Female very worn, obviously gravid and in egg laying mode. The description of the eggs is fairly consistent with the notes and photo here:- https://lepidoptera.butterflyhouse.com.au/enno/excursaria-e.html
Excellent photos aand record.
