Hi Debbie, another good photo. In this genus of ants, most of the workers have “normally” proportioned heads and bodies like most ants that you see, but also a caste of “major” ants, designed for heavy work. The heads are big to accommodate the muscles necessary to operate the very big mandibles. Cheers, Jon
