User's notes

41 small hawthorns; cut and painted in 2 groups of 15 and 26 Hths; mapped with Field Maps 2025/26 Treated; the hawthorn on second photo was the only exemption of otherwise heavily grazed hawthorns probably because a pile of cut briars on top of it; it will be interesting to see whether the usual woody weed treatment i.e. cut and paint the cut surface will work on defoliated plants. Follow up control at a site where on the 16/03/2025 hundreds of hawthorns and some sweet briars were treated; see Field Maps 2024/25 Treated Weeds / Hawthorn. I took these photos to document whether treatment of defoliated hawthorn works with the usual method of cut and dab.
