User's notes

Isaacs fledging - male. First fledging of this nesting group. The male and female chicks had been stretching their wings, cleaning their feet for a number of days. At times both chicks flapped their wings, fast - almost to a blur - in the hollow mouth. Neither observer had seen such pre-fledging behaviour previously. As all seemed quiet at Isaacs, I had walked away down to Tom 4, when I saw a triangle of gang-gangs fly low above me, from the east, and land in a copse of trees near Isaacs. I believe the triangle was the fledgling being followed closely by mum and dad. Initially, I thought they were an unknown fledgling, as the group unexpectedly flew up the hill. However, when I was fortunate to find the family (not far from Isaacs, and identified by the soft calls of the parents, and the raw squawk of the fledgling), I was able to identify the Isaac's boy by the red mohawk. Confirmed by the disappearance of the male from the hollow!
