That would make sense, possibly Persicaria lapathifolia. I will suggest that and leave it to those more expert than me to decide. Hope all is well with you Jenny! :-)

Check again after 20mm of rain. That should have livened it up. I can't tell if this is the same dam as Persicaria lapathifolia until a moderator identifies the plants.
